Opening declaration from the Agent against Apathy

I, Abby/4eccentricabby have joined Utubia as a member in it's mission, thus having honorably accepted to be in charge of the 'Agency of Apathy'. While i take this oath i would also like to mention that i will forever uphold the union of Utubia and act upon it to the best of my abilities. Thank you so much for having me and believing in me. Utubia History

The virtual reality revolution had been raging under the surface of the cyber ocean since 1997 or 1998 by some reckonings. Several years later, with technological advances, people were able to not only email globally, they could chat in real-time, send high resolution image files, and utilize the more personalized video-sharing on broadband connections. The feverish pitch of the people's radical expression began in earnest with the famous First Wave of YouTube. This lasted for the good part of a year and gave rise to the counter revolution known as the Second Wave of YouTube, more properly called "the Advent of Utubia". This is a movement, a culture, the birth of a new nation. In its first stages circa August 2006, the pangs of labour gave rise to the Presidential Elections. There was a minor battle with the unrealistic forces of anarchy which succumbed to apathy, as the primaries were completed. Peter Appleseed declared early victory and moved to consolidate under the absolute banner of Unity and the ONE party. Upon this energy wave, in the physical world, former President G. Ford died and President Saddam Hussein was hanged. Synchronicity, the old gives way to the new. (more later)

Definition of Utubia

The word or name Utubia stems from usage on the popular website YouTube.com. Various names were tossed around during the First Wave of YouTube, such as: YouTubia, YouTubeland, GooTubeLand, GooTube, Tube, Tubie, Tubia, Youtubica, etc. During the Second Wave of YouTube it became apparent that people were looking for more than just an obviously, apathetic, non-community oriented commercial website. People were looking for community. People wanted something with meaning and substance. People believed the internet and video-sharing could be more than just a meaningless hobby. Utopia became the buzzword, initially prevalent in the use of haters and detractors ironically. Utopia so fatefully is parallel with the new term Youtubia and hence the hybrid mystical name was coined: "Utubia" written by Peter Appleseed, first President and visionary in service of the Good People.

Utubia vs. YouTube

Utubia is much bigger than YouTube.com. YT is merely a private website with its own strict selfish interests. YT is a commercial venture, it is a typical financial corporation, nothing more, nothing less. On the other hand, Utubia is the name for a lofty concept that has existed in prophecy for many millenia. This concept comprises a set of ideas that define humanity's dream of forming a worldwide community of good people in total harmony. A society that is based upon obeying certain rules of conduct under a benevolent leadership, guided by a philosopher-king or more appropriately, king & queen. The founders of Utubia, just so happened to meet and become aware of their potential while using the YT website. Peter Appleseed moreover, had realized that YT was merely a vessel which was carrying them across to the other side, to the new lands. YT is none other than a charter vessel, a sailing ship, which carries passengers from the old world to the new world. There are many other charter vessels, such as Sharkle (is it safe to go in the waters?), Live Video (new competition for YT), Revver, Live Clip, Dabble, Digg, Stickam, etc. Utubia is not limited to YT, nor any other private website. Utubia is spreading from site to site and has only one border, what is Utubia and what is not yet Utubia. Utubia is expanding as we speak. A permanent archive home for Utubia is to be established under the first term of President Appleseed. The website is TBA.

Is Utubia connected with Religion?

Some people were asking about religion since they are under the impression that the word "ministry" has those connotations. lol A large number of governments in the world use the term Ministry to describe their own official departments. Also many cultural and entertainment organizations use the term Ministry, take for example the club music website "ministry of sound". So, the answer is: No, Utubia does not necessarily want to be an organized religion because it uses the term Ministry or for any other reason. The general stance Utubia takes upon Religion is the same stance it takes on Government. In fact, our upcoming Council of Religion & Spirituality is going to study the truth about organized religion from an unbiased viewpoint.
